From Starving Artists
Welcome to the Starving Artists knowledge base for jewelry designers
Getting started
Some of you may already be familiar with a Wiki and what it's used for. For those who aren't, a Wiki is a user editable articles knowledge base. Members can submit articles that they have written, helping you to gain more exposure as an artist and attract more attention from search engines. Our hope for this project is to eventually create the largest collaborative jewelry making database on the web. We are already well on our way with a very active forum full of helpful information. This Wiki is an extention of what we are already creating there, please feel free to add your articles relating to techniques, how to's, gemstone information, product information, supplier resources, business related articles etc. Note: *Tutorials should go in the tutorials board on the forum, this area is for knowledge based articles.

Adding an article
Wondering how writing an article can help your business? Be sure to read Writing articles; good SEO
To add an article, first use the search feature to your left to search for the keywords pertaining to your article. If no article is found you can click on the "Create Article" link to start a new document. If you find a pre-existing article about your topic you can add your article below it or contribute to the existing article if it hasn't been "protected". Protecting an article means that others will not be able to edit what you have written, they will however be able to add additional infomation below it. Allowing an article to be edited can be useful in that others will be able to provide updated information as it becomes available. *If you wish to have your article protected please contact a Moderator as only Moderators have the ability to protect an article.
To add an article you must register, once you do you will be able to add articles right away. To edit articles submitted by others you must first have at least 50 forum posts. This is a security measure designed to protect you and your submissions.
Please feel free to add a signature to your articles, include your name and links to your site or sites.
