I am if everybody else is. I'm not overjoyed about the way she is dealing withthe passing out of the bracelets. I thought they would be given to a group of women undergoing treatment at the center-basically giving them out all at once instead of giving them out individually. As long as they are given out-that's what counts. So if you want to do it again, let's go for it. If we start now, by Oct. we can have a bunch of bracelets. I think we got like 30 last time and I would like to shoot for a couple of hundred this time. Are you guys up for that?

Hi :itsme: Debbie welcome to the forum.

Gayle I love your fristers bracelet. It is beautifully designed and shows the love you made it with (with which you made it?) Very cool!

Sue, I'm in for a couple of bracelets. If you do not like what the reporter did, I suppose you could contact the local cancer association directly and tell them the plan and see where it can go from there. Let me know if I can help you out in any way.

Thanks, Margie.....

I would be glad to contribute to this type of project. What if someone's local cancer center was contacted (perhaps it could be voted on and change every year?) and the offer was made to donate bracelets to women undergoing treatment. That way, the middle man/woman would be avoided and this could be done with more control over how it's done.....

Just a thought..........

Please count me in for a bracelet or two or three if this is done again. I've lost a cousin to breast cancer and my best friends MIL is going through chemo for breast cancer now.

I'm sorry I missed the original one due to my hiatus, but I will DEFINITELY do it this year if you do it again! I created this for my site some time back and my Mom bought it from me!

I have a similar thing I am doing for the Women's Center here (rape crisis counselling etc.), also part of my "Gems of Hope" line.

The teal color symbolizes lost or missing children, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (infertility) and Childhood Sexual Abuse/Rape. (I fit into two categories LOL, so special meaning to ME!) I am leaving a few with my counselor there so she can give them out appropriately to someone at the point where I was at 2 years ago. They can have messages such as Hope, Power, Believe, Comfort, Courage, Faith etc. It's a visible reminder throughout every day that is a struggle. Having something to touch & see (kind of like some who do the snapping rubber bands on wrist thing! Except PRETTIER and FAR LESS painful LOL) can really give some hope when one gets to that point of finally finding some closure and/or healing.

My Aunt has breast cancer and I lost another Aunt to breast cancer in 2000.

this is a WONDERFUL project!!

I'm SO glad someone posted this so I could see this!!

I'll try to get some done when I get back from Philly, one of the boy scouts' mother had breast cancer when he was only 4... one of my mom's friends finished her battle with breast cancer just as my mom was diagnosed with CLL So I will definately get some made!

prairiesunshine- I love your bracelets! I love the support for rape/abuse victims as well... I plan on making some support ribbons this year to pass out around my college campus :) This has given me an idea to pass out teal bracelets as well ^_^

Woo Hoo Sue!

You are such a sweetie to set this up again. I am definitely in for 1 or 2. I had never beaded for a charity before. The creation process felt really different. It was wonderful

Thanks again
Cheers & Blessings

It's in Oct.. I'm not sure about the "perfect pairs", Laurel. It's hard to tell what kind of sense of humor people might have about them.

Ohhh....I missed this! Count me in for a couple! Are there any specifics as to style/type? I'm guessing pink is a theme.

Laurel -- those earrings are a riot! Wish my pair were as perfect (and if they were set closer to my ears than my waist that would be nice too) :giggle: Question....is it gravity or does earth just suck?

I'm waiting to hear from the news anchor. I sent her an email a few days ago. With the murder rate in Jax., they are staying pretty busy.

oh gosh, am I too late to chime in?? Let me know!!! I won't be able to do any until after the first weekend of September, but it shouldn't take too terribly long to make them, just to send them to you . . .
I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But if you focus on your family,
the needs of others, your work, meeting new people, and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you.

Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification,
that it may impart grace to the hearers. (Eph 4:29 NKJV)

I'm sorry you guys, that I didn't get this set up this year. I've been so swamped with that drape order, that everything else has just gone to the wayside.
