I found this forum earlier today via the referrer app on my site. Took a look around and it looks like somewhere I'd like to frequent, so I thought I'd say hello!

I am Tara, aka 'Kind of Strange'.

http://www.kindofstrange.com

I'm a tech industry monkey by day, jeweler and random-stuff maker by night and weekends. I recently took a few months off of work and completed the Jewelry Technician Intensive course down at the Revere Academy in San Fran. Now that I'm back I'm looking to make pieces on a more regular basis and start doing a few shows here and there.

I like working with organics such as bone and fur, mixed with more traditional metalwork.

Here's my big box ring project as one example:

Currently trying to get some pieces together for a show and generally getting more involved with the local metals guild scene. I don't really blog as much as I probably should, but I'm trying to get back in the habit. :)

Welcome Tara! I'm glad you didn't mind me linking to your site - I had come across your blog and was intrigued by your box ring, so I remembered it when I saw the post on Revere! I very much look forward to seeing more of your work, the use of bone and fur is really interesting!

Wonderful work en designs. I am from Holland and my son is a gold- en silversmith and I always enjoy the beautifull things he makes, just like you do.

Hah, of course I don't mind! Heck, I'm always happy when someone links to my site or gives me somewhere interesting to find new info and you've done both. :)

Thanks for the kind words all, much appreciated!
